The Centre has always recruited volunteers to help in the smooth operation of its activities. It has also been on the forefront for job placement for volunteers assisting at the centre from time to time. The volunteer programme helps to provide basic secretarial skills, literacy, communication and administrative skills to individuals. Volunteers have developed excellent computer skills and some of them have helped facilitate beginner computer literacy classes as part of their contribution to the centre.
During the holidays, PROTEC Stanger learners volunteer their services as part of the work experience programme. We also have tertiary students doing their ICT in-service at the centre from time to time.
Our programme has been very successful in terms of volunteers finding job opportunities. To date, we have approximately 50 volunteers who are working in permanent positions all around the country.
This is indeed a proud achievement in terms of helping our growing society to reap the benefits of its new found democracy.
